Of course the backbone of this revolutionary weekend is the conference sessions themselves. Thursday 12 March will see a beefed-up Production Meeting where backstage professionals from around the world congregate to air their issues and discuss better ways of working, and music industry greening group Julie’s Bicycle will run a series of Climate Clinics throughout the weekend, to prepare every free thinker for a greener new world order.

In fact, far from leaving punks pretty vacant, ILMC’s vast range of panels promise to inspire new thoughts and ideas, and undoubtedly get everyone talking. We work hard to ensure that our panels are as current as possible, so look out for final details in the next issue of IQ and online in February.

There’s the recession to deal with; questions about whether live music’s bubble has finally burst; the blurring boundaries between traditional roles; and the fact that these days, everyone wants a piece of our pie. And that’s before we’ve even cast a subversive eye over festival worries, emerging markets, the burgeoning network of supervenues and good ol’ corporatization.

With more topics than spikes on a punk rocker’s dog collar, it’s going to be three anarchic days you can’t afford to miss. So bring your leather, bristles and studs to London in March 2009: Never mind the bollocks…here’s ILMC 21!
