'ILMC 2000 1/4' - A RECORD YEAR!
The 'Millennium Edition' of the International Live Music Conference (9 - 12 March 2000) set a new benchmark for future meetings with a grand total of just over 600 registrations being allowed, and a far greater attendance at all conference sessions and social events as a result.

More than 40 countries and occupations were represented by the invitation-only attendance in an event that spanned four days of scheduled events, and the organisers believe that a far better focus was achieved this year in the various discussion forums - with real initiatives being produced to tackle issues such as artist tax and a pan-European 'event safety guide'.

For the benefit of those who weren't able to make the trip to ILMC 2000 1/4 (and those who DID but found themselves stuck in a corridor somewhere when they should have been in the meetings...) this centre contains pretty well everything you need to know about this edition of the conference:

  • session chairmens' reports
  • a day-by-day photorial,
  • industry press coverage
  • Arthur Awards results
  • and the definitive Pollstar Review - a blow-by-blow account of the whole weekend from the pen of Camilla Phelps.

Further information can be found in the ILMC Centre on The Axis - including a detailed schedule in the 'Conference Guide'.

As always, the ILMC relies on your feedback in order to improve its service - so please make sure to visit the Simkins Spacebar and let us have your comments.

To all those who made the trip to ILMC 2000 1/4 (especially the hapless few who were called on to moderate sessions), our sponsors, and the organising team who made it all possible, this is our chance to say a very sincere and heartfelt 'thank you' for making it what was, without doubt, one of the best meetings ever.
