In the last 16 or so years that these essentially tongue-in-cheek awards have been running, 'The Arthurs' have developed a life of their own - with unexpected prestige being bestowed upon them by both the industry and the international press.
To match their elevated status, last year we introduced a smarter, more sophisticated Arthur trophy
and a new, more representative voting system. This year we made some changes to the categories
themselves to make the awards even more relevant. To recognize rising talent among the ILMC's
younger members, a new accolade was instituted: 'Tomorrow's New Boss'. The existing award for
industry professionals was broadened, to cover the service sector from professional advisers to
hands-on support providers like merchandisers or catering companies - with the title 'Services Above
and Beyond'. Trophies for artists and managers were rolled together into one glittering prize the 'Least
Painful Tour'...
The list of nominations was drawn up from the votes of a randomly selected panel of 30
people, representing a wide selection of countries and occupations.
