AN
OFFER YOU CAN'T REFUSE...
Bigger than Al Capone’s tax bill,
more notorious than Bonnie and Clyde, and hotter on the trail than
Elliott Ness – yes – the ‘Godfather of
live music conferences’ is back with the announcement this week
of ‘The ILMC: Part 19’.
Hand-picked industry goodfellas
and Family heads from more than 50 countries are being called on to
leave their bean-shooters at the door and take their seats for what
threatens to be possibly the biggest ‘sit down’
in our 19-year history. So if you don’t want to see your business
taking the Big Sleep, wise up and listen good. We’re only going
to tell you once… (well, several times actually, but ‘once’
sounds better).
The latest issue of IQ magazine
comes complete with registration forms and a feature detailing everything
you need to know about next year’s meeting. Even more information
can be found at our new-look conference website www.ilmc19.com
- along with on-line registration via our secure server and
updates all the way through to the conference weekend. Members of
the Family will again be able to save themselves enough money to buy
several rounds of five-star hooch by registering before February 1st
and qualifying for the discounted rate. Meanwhile, the extremely wise
guy who manages to fill in the forms and pay up before anyone else
will again be rewarded with the highly-prized ‘ILMC Mug Award’.
Yes – ‘wow’ indeed…
If all of that isn’t
enough to make your company credit card jump straight out of your
pocket, then take note: ILMC meetings are always sold out, and we’ve
pushed the capacity as high as we dare go to match the massive increase
in the event’s popularity – so you are strongly advised
to confirm your place as soon as possible, if you don’t want
to risk missing out and ending up looking like the opposite end from
a horse’s head…. Capice…?
IT’S
ABOUT DA MONEY…
Every
year, the cost of running the ILMC goes up as we find new ways of
improving our service levels – but every year the event
is growing in popularity and gaining more and more support from the
industry’s leading companies.
Registration
fees have always been kept as low as possible, but we are aware of
the fact that they still represent a sizeable sum to those of us who
are not exactly in the multi-millionaire bracket. For the third year
running therefore, we’re taking the step of holding the rates
for ‘early bird’ registration at the same level. If you
don’t need to take advantage
of that, then you’re probably so loaded that you don’t
need to worry about paying the extra later….
WEEDING
OUT THE INFORMERS...
The
success of each conference relies heavily on the input of our members
– but this year we’ll be going to special lengths to hunt
down our industry stool-pigeons and get them to sing like canaries...
In
order to ensure that the conference sessions are as relevant as possible
to your business, the meeting agenda itself is based around suggestions
and feedback that you give us, and is therefore announced a few weeks
into the New Year when everyone has had a chance to give us their
thoughts. You can just pick up the phone any time or e-mail us at

to spill the beans,
but – to leave you with even fewer places to hide – this
year we’ve set up a Web-based message group where you can not
only post your ideas but also get the debate rolling long before you
even get to the conference rooms. Just click
here to join up – or follow the link at www.ilmc19.com.
Even
if you’re one of those ‘Untouchables’ who consider
that even this simple level of proactivity doesn’t apply to
them-think again. Our
team of hard-working agenda investigators will be hitting the phones
during the next few weeks to drag information out of likely suspects.
So expect a call at any time. We know you’re out there….
FRIENDS
OF THE FAMILY
Producing the annual conference is very
much a joint effort between individuals and companies from every part
of the industry. Without the support of these ‘smart
operators’ there would be very little to write about here at
all…
Heading the line-up as Platinum, Gold and Silver
‘title’ sponsors of The ILMC: Part 19 are Live Nation,
The O2 and Ticketpro – with our special 'Associate’ sponsors
Showsec, Bravado International Group, Earls Court and Ticketmaster.
Already giving their support to bring you a whole range of services,
features and events throughout the weekend are Robertson Taylor Insurance
Brokers, AEG Live, Rock-it Cargo, American Talent Agency, Pollstar
Magazine, Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, Feld Entertainment,
Gay and Company, Vector Arena, Aiken Promotions, National Exhibition
Centre, PRG Europe and Welldone Agency – with invaluable help
from Berryhurst, Britannia Row Productions, Creative Technology, Entec
Sound & Light, EST, Inner Sanctum, Michael Simkins Solicitors
LLP, Music Bank (Hire), Primary Talent International, PSL, The Safety
Officer, The Tour Co, Blackout and XL Video.
If you want to join the team of goodfellas above
– and win the respect of other bosses everywhere – you
can get the wire on all remaining openings from the Advertising section
of our conference site at www.ilmc19.com
- or by contacting our very own Chris ‘Snake Eyes’ Prosser.

WELCOME
TO THE MOB
The
gang at the ILMC’s new North London HQ continues to grow,
with three new faces arriving in the last few months to cover strategic
roles. Heading up the registration team and ably assisting our conference
producer is Michael ‘The Cat’ Muldoon, while Kate ‘Knuckles’
Hopewell has signed up to oversee our new showcase initiative and
programming. Last but not least is IQ editor, Greg ‘Ice
Man’ Parmley, who joins the long-suffering team of people whose
job it is to plan the conference agenda and prise topic suggestions
from you all…
Good
luck folks. You’ll enjoy it… Honest..!

NEWS ROUND UP
Far too many news headlines have been
posted on our Web news service in the last few months to
list here (well done Mr Challis!), so to put yourself in
the picture just go to www.ilmc.com and click the News button.
CONTACT
The ILMC welcomes new members,
but please make very careful use of the 'Forward' button on this message
as it's vital for the effectiveness of the organisation that our mailing
list remains restricted to professionals actively involved in the
industry.
Please also remember to let us know if you change your
e-mail (or any other) address. We need your involvement,
so contact us any time you like with news, ideas, criticisms, and
