One of London’s best known exhibition, conference and music venues faces closure after it was revealed that owners CapCo would like to see the West London site developed for housing.

The 70-acre site is potentially available for ‘up to 8,000 homes’ although no decision will be taken until after the London Olympics in 2012 – the venue is to play host to the volleyball championship.
