A fan died at a Smashing Pumpkins gig in Vancouver, Canada on September 24th after being involved in what police described as a "mosh pit or crowd-surfing incident".

The man was removed unconscious from the crowd inside the PNE Forum venue. NME reports that first-aid specialists attempted to revive him before he was transferred to the nearby St Paul's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No suspicious circumstances are suspected and NME report that police put the death down to an "out of control mosh pit".
