Sam Gesser, the Canadian impresario whose career spanned five decades, has died aged 78.
Sam Gesser, the Canadian impresario whose career spanned five decades, has died aged 78.
Turning his hand to concert promotion in the 50s, Gesser promoted theatre shows, folk music and a host of major names including Bob Seeger, Joan Baez, Danny Kaye, Leonard Cohen, Janis Joplin and Nana Mouskouri.
He was appointed an officer of the Order of Canada for his contribution
to Canadian culture. He leaves his wife, Ruth, and two children.
