Its all about talent contests today - in the US Daughtry sold more than 1 million copies after just 5 weeks of release, becoming the fastest selling debut rock album of all time.

In the UK Leona Lewis has set a new British record for the fastest ever selling debut album. Lewis, the 2006 winner of X-factor, had her album Spirit top the charts this week AND her song Bleeding Love topped the singles charts. Spirit sold 375,872 copies in just one week, overtaking the Arctic Monkeys' Whatever People Say I Am, I Am Not which sold 363,735 copies in January last.
