The Wu-Tang Clan's new single "The Heart Gently Weeps," has the unmistakable melody of George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" which was licensed by Harrisongs. Now Sony ATV have decided to extend their licensing and on the just-finished "Judas," Ja Rule has used the melody of "Eleanor Rigby" and Common and Jay Z have also used Lennon & McCartney songs. But don't expect to hear samples of the Beatles' original recordings - these are controlled by the Beatles' master company Apple Corp and EMI records and are currently not available for sampling.
