Festival Republic have announced they have ended their nine year sponsorship relationship with Carling which means that the UK's Reading and Leeds festivals will no longer be referred to as the Carling Weekend.

Festival Republic, which, as previously reported, dropped the Mean Fiddler name after it sold most of its venue network to the MAMA Group earlier this year, said their partnership with the British drinks brand had ended "by mutual agreement" and that "both parties felt the time was right to pursue new opportunities".
