Peats Ridge Festival Cancelled Due To Extreme Weather Conditions

After a terrible European summer mixing up severe flooding with forest fires, now the Peats Ridge Festival in Australia has been cancelled after prolonged rainfall with the highest ever recorded rainfall in December which made it impossible for the festival to go ahead. The organisers said "Mother Nature has made her call and as a sustainable Festival we have had to listen. It is with the greatest regret that we have to announce the cancellation of this years Peats Ridge Festival. The highest December rainfall on record, coupled with six months of extremely wet weather has resulted in ground conditions that make it impossible for the Festival to proceed. Although the team has done everything in its power to deliver the Festival, at the end of the day the wellbeing of our patrons must come first. In the interests of public safety the organisers and venue owner have had to make this extremely difficult decision.  We want to thank everybody that has supported the Festival this year. All the ticket purchasers, families, staff, artists, performers, volunteers, suppliers, land owners and guardians, sponsors, local authorities and the many, many people who have put their heart and soul into creating what would have been the most amazing Peats Ridge Festival to date. " All ticket holders will be refunded." Peats Ridge Festival won an international award from agreenerfestival.com in 2007 for its committment to the environment.
