UK Collection society Phonographic Performance Ltd has reported positive results for 2007 with licence fee income exceeding the £100million ($196million) for the first time.
Licence
fee income (from broadcasters and businesses that use sound recordings
in public such as pubs, clubs and venues) rose 17% to £115million
($225million), from £97.9million ($191.6million) in 2006.
At
the same time, distributable net revenue soared to £99.5million
($194.7million), up 18% on the corresponding period last year.
