C3 Presents, promoters of the Vineland Music Festival, have called off the August 2008 US bash, citing competition from other concerts and sensitivity to local residents' concerns.
C3 Presents, promoters of the Vineland Music Festival, have called off the August 2008 US bash, citing competition from other concerts and sensitivity to local residents' concerns.
C3 recently announced that they had teamed up with the UK's Festival Republic for the event. "It takes a little bit of an ego-check to do this," said Charlie Walker from C3,
but, he said, the weekend timeframe they had earmarked - August 8th
-10th had become crowded with other events. He said they are now
looking at early summer 2009 for Vineland's debut.
The
statement was immediately cheered and lamented in equal measure by the
local groups who had skirmished over the plans - some opposing (Neighbors Against the Rock Concert Site,
or NARCS) and some supporting. In local press, the local mayor seemed
to be relieved a difficult political footyball had gone away!
