Hot on the heels of Universal Music Group's £44million purchase of Sanctuary Group (primarily it seems to access and develop its merchandising, live agency and artist management businesses) Warner Music Japan is the latest major label division to diversify through acquisition by buying a 70% stake in Tokyo based 'artists services' company Taisuke a cross sector music firm who have operations in the management, recorded music and copyright administration domains.

With artists such as Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails telling fans at a concert in Sydney to record the set and "Steal it. Steal away.
